A native of Dublin, Dara graduated from University College of Dublin Ireland with a first class Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Due to a keen interest in injury prevention and rehabilitation, Dara completed extensive training in the STOTT Pilates method. Immediately after graduation he began working in Booterstown Physiotherapy Clinic (Ireland). This afforded him the opportunity to work within a sports practice providing treatment to elite athletes and members of the public suffering from back problems, neck dysfunction, rehabilitation needs and musculoskeletal disorders. Dara was responsible for clinical Pilates within the practice as lead instructor. He has completed various rotations through many specialist areas and spent the last number of years focusing on actively treating athletes at a university level (predominantly football). Dara is committed to the STOTT Pilates method and strives to incorporate the method into all aspects of his physiotherapy treatment. He has also gained further knowledge in the practice of dry needling, biomechanics, Kinesio-taping, hydrotherapy, healthy HIIT Pilates and advanced sports nutrition, sports traumatology, acupuncture and squash coaching.

While living in London, Dara has further gained experience in the community and busy private practices. Dara has returned to Dublin and is eager to provide Physiotherapy services through DC Fitness Physio Ltd. Physiotherapy, sport and healthy living isn’t just his job, it is a life choice and a way of living.

'After years of suffering with my low back, I eventually gave in and decided to give Pilates a go. I struggled in the beginning but under Daras careful guidance and instruction I began understanding my poor posture and movement patterns. I now swear by Pilates' - Michael
'Dara was professional, friendly and most of all encouraging. He encouraged me to preserve my independence and did not concentrate on my disabilities. He treated me as an equal, not a patient'
'I have found Dara to be extremely professional and knowledgeable and would highly recommend him (and have done) for anyone requiring physiotherapy. My treatment consisted of dry needling and for someone terrified of needles, Dara put me at my ease while administering and the results have been amazing. Dara communicated with me very well and his technique is fantastic. I am continuing to improve as a result of my time spent with Dara' - Theresa
‘Physio has really helped me to get back on track after my surgery. I feel so good having felt very very very unwell. Physiotherapy enabled me to slowly but surely get back to the real world again. Thanks is not enough, I am very grateful' - Thelma
‘I have been seeing Dara for Physiotherapy and Sports Massage, which I found to be very beneficial to my training for Dublin City Marathon' - Sean
